Bacons studio in Kensington was transported to a new site in Dublin. Everything was moved and accounted for, including the original walls.
The first impression is of total disorder, but Bacon actually catagorised his chaos into specifics, for example, painting area, area for unfinished canvases, area for his jars of pigments, area for empty champagne bottles.
Paint is everywhere in his studio, the walls, floor and curtains, as well as images, photographs and sketches. Bacon's sense of chaos comes clearly shows that his studio was well used and loved, an idea you might not get so strongly if everything was tidy and clean.
I like the impression of his studio and how it changes once you know a little information about him and the way he worked. This could be an idea for the cinema museum and its design.
