Start to draw the proposal and work how it will work in the site.
Each film/projection starts to create a story, each can tell a story about an element of the building or a particular space.
Micro sites within a macro site. The Visitor needs to understand why it has been done. What does this have to do with the cinema?
Each projector moment is like a stage or set recording the building.
The analogue method is explicit and the tangible quality allows immediate results. It’s an elaborate process, which people can see and understand in their own ways as to how it is happening.
Spatial reaction to the site; a response.
The film becomes a palimpsest [built up layers] with instant results.
The film gives multiple readings and always varies. The film running over areas of the site will not always stay in the same space. Sometimes the film will slack sometimes be taught. There will be a leeway of about 2-3mm either side.
The process allows me to get in touch with the building, my response is a survey and analysis.
