outside window projection from Theresa Williams on Vimeo.
Projecting outside of the window proved to be a challenge depending on the time of day. As the days are bright and long at the moment then projecting during the day cannot be seen. I filmed at 730 in the evening, it was still very light, but the projection was slight. It gives me confidence that the projection will be strong and alive when t is dark. I projected a single line to reveal a crisp and sharp edge to line up against the roof tiles. I filmed from the outside also to see the outcome from a distance. As the line was very thin and the day was still light then the projection quite weak, but it could be seen. Some people might notice it and others might not. It becomes something that people will look around and think is something there or not and its only when the night draws in that the image becomes stronger, more apparent and defined.
There is a particular area around the site that an outside projection will be effective. A projection from the window of the existing building to the very linear layered building opposite. Outlining the edge as it slowly appears over the course of the day, changing the space and giving the visitors a varied experience [from morning to evening].
